Better Money Conversations

Writer: Alex van den HeeverAlex van den Heever

These 3 tips can help with better money conversations:

1. Pull the bandaid off and just talk about it early.

One of the first things you should ask your potential client is, “Is there a budget?” or “What’s the allocated budget for this video project?”

2. Know how much you charge and don’t prepare for a negotiation.

You should know exactly how much your services cost. So when a client asks for an estimate, you should immediately be able to give it to them. Don’t tell them that you can discount or drop the price, because this devalues your work

3. Have a tiered pricing model. Be it basic, mid, or premium.

Shout out to @thechrisdo, he mentioned pricing sends signals, that people don’t want to go for the cheapest option, and will most likely want to go for the mid to premium offers.

Remember - your client is paying you for a service - you are allowed to ask about money/payment terms/etc
