We all get frustrated when clients don’t respond to our queries and we continually have to send emails such as “as requested in my last mail…”.
Chances are, your email isn’t clear enough to your client.
These 3 things can help get the response you need:
Write your emails in bullet form - this helps to separate the different questions/concerns that you may have
Send one email per topic - if you are mentioning finances, availability, production schedules, etc. all in one email, there’s a chance that only one of these topics will be addressed as your client at the time only has input on one topic. Having different email threads with the correct subject line allows clients to revisit different topics when they have the correct information, instead of only responding to one thing they are able to answer and forgetting about the rest of the information in the email.
Have a clear call to action, below are some examples of call to actions:
- Please let me know your thoughts
- Let me know when you are available for us to set up a meeting
- If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me
- Just to confirm, your next steps will be to XYZ and ABC
- Let me know if you need any more information
Put these 3 steps into practice and you’ll start getting the responses you need.
