If you are anything like me - you get HANGRY on set. To prevent this - make sure there’s a break scheduled for everyone to eat.
On bigger sets, you should allocate a budget for food/catering. The production manager will need to appoint someone to handle it if they don’t take on the role itself.
Productions often do not go according to schedule, this is nothing new, but it is still so important to schedule time for everyone to go on break. Jo says, "As the camera operator, director or DP, I often forget about food because I’m so focused on getting the production complete, but this is not healthy. Everyone needs to eat!"
On smaller sets (crew of 5 or less) it’s also important to establish when everyone is going to take a break and who is responsible for food. We have been in the middle of remote farms forgetting to account for food (or forgetting to pack a lunch), which was not pleasant.
Even if it’s establishing that everyone is responsible for their own food or you are going to budget Mcdonald's from Uber Eats, everyone must take a break to eat.
