Picture this, you’re in video production, and a client has asked for video and graphic design - but you don’t specialise in graphic design. So you decide to decline the project because it’s too big to take on. No, no. That’s nonsense talk.
If something is out of your expertise, you always have the option to outsource the task and take on a project management role. Just mention to your client that there are some parts of the project that you will be overseeing, but you are still handling the creative direction.
Make sure you have a network of people outside of your expertise to help scale your business. Creating a network is easier than you think, we use social media as our main tool to find people we can potentially work with - if we see content pages or personalities that offer a service, we set up meetings with them and get to know them.
