We learnt the hard way why having these are so important. Both of these tools are excellent to help keep your production day as organised as possible.
On the day of production, there is so much going on. From setting up, to managing the crew/talent to thinking about when’s lunchtime! With these 2 helpful tools, all the crew and your client (if they are on set with you) have a clear indication of what to expect throughout the day/s.
Below I have written a more detailed explanation of what a call sheet and a production schedule is below:
Call Sheet: This has information regarding times each person needs to be on set and at which location. It also includes information about the crew/talent, such as contact information and position.
Production schedules: It's pretty rare for productions to go according to schedule, however, a production schedule helps to keep everyone in the loop. It’s basically a breakdown of what needs to be filmed during the day. It will have information such as the scene, the time/location, estimated filming duration and the people involved (be it talent or crew).
There are plenty of call sheets and production schedule templates online. Be sure to use them for your next production.
