A recce is pretty much a location scout to figure out where you will be setting up and shooting. Even if you know you are shooting one interview in an office, you need to know where light is coming from and how to control it.
You also need to consider acoustics for audio and make sure you have permission or filming permits for the location.
So make sure to do a recce before shoot day!
