If you are part of the creative industry, especially the video or film world, chances are that you LOVE talking about your gear and equipment.
Let me explain why this could be detrimental to your creative business.
Blankly put, constantly talking about your amazing cinema camera could show signs of insecurities and leaves less room for the client to talk about their brand, product, or service.
The fact is, most of your clientele does not care if you have the best lights, audio set up, fancy lenses, or camera, clients care about the work that you are able to produce. Besides, in 2022, chances are most people own or have access to great equipment.
If you are shooting for a Netflix Original, then sure thing! A Netflix-approved camera prerequisite so in this case, talk about your camera, but with the producer and director! Most people watching the show won't notice what camera it was shot with.
Clients want to know if you are able to create content for them that is incredible and within their budget, all while achieving their goals and objectives for the project.
Next time you chat to a client, instead of talking about your gear, find out more about how to company operates and how you can produce content for your client that gives them a return on investment (ROI)
